removing yourself from a microsoft family as an only member

Hi Permis, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

This may mean that the system detects that you're still a minor. You need to ask an adult to add you as a member under their family group so they can manage your account and privacy settings.

Have an adult sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and then ask them to add you as a member. Once you've been added they will be needing to sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings so they can manage it for you.

How to remove member from family group (usual way not working)?

    Hello Tori_Bell!

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I can see that you're having trouble removing a member from your family group. If the usual way of removing a member from a family group is not working, you can try the following steps:

    1. Sign in to your Microsoft account and go to the Microsoft Family website.

    2. Click on the "Manage family members" option.

    3. Select the family member you want to remove and click on "Remove from family".

    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the removal.

Please see: Remove yourself or a family member from your family group on Xbox | Xbox Support

If this still doesn't work, you can contact Microsoft support for further assistance. They will be able to help you resolve the issue.

Trying to move a minor when the original parent is no longer on the account.

    Hello Emanon11,

Welcome to the Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

A child account that is not over the age of majority cannot leave the group on its own.
You need the Family Group organizer to remove the child account from that group.

If you're over the age of majority (for example, 18 in the U.S.), you can remove yourself from your family group by using a Windows device.

On the console, any other organizer in the family group can remove you. To do so, have them follow the steps in the preceding section.

Note If you're the only organizer in a family group that includes child accounts, first remove the member from the family group. After you’ve removed them, add them to another family group so that they can continue using Xbox services.

    To remove yourself online:

    1. Sign in to your family Microsoft account.Microsoft account
    2. Under your name, select Leave family.

If you are of legal age (eg 18 in the US), you can remove yourself from the family group using a Windows device.
In the console, any other organizer in the family group can remove it. To do this, ask him to follow the steps in the previous section.
Note If you are the only organizer in a family group that includes child accounts, first remove the member from the family group. After removing them, add them to another family group so they can continue to use Xbox services.

Under your name, select Leave Family.

Hope I helped and see you soon
