    how do i remove my Xbox one from my friends amazon Alexa device? preferably permanently.

    to give a little background on this, my roommate/friend has an echo device set up in his room (with his xbox) and living room (where my xbox is set up). i have NEVER set up my box to the echos, or anything else but for some reason every time anyone says
    the magic words "alexa, turn off xbox" mine cuts off. i have tried changing the name, removing my xbox from the echo directly, and even changing setting on my box so it SHOULDNT BE ABLE TO CONNECT but everything i do seems to be in vain because it always happens.
    i would cut my box from the net, but i need it to play my games. so i ask everyone, how do i do this? im sick and tired of mine getting cut off mid-game when i cant save my progress.

    Go to Settings > Devices & Streaming >
    Digital assistants     then un-check Enable digital assistants

    Edit: I just noticed you said you changed the setting on your Xbox, is this the setting you tried?

    Thank you for coming to the Xbox forum with this question.

    If you are able to get access to the Alexa App connected to it you need to do the following -

    1. Go to the menu, and select the Devices icon
      [​IMG]
      .
    2. Select your smart home device, and then the three dots.
    3. On the Device Settings screen, you can:
      • Edit the device's name.
      • View the Hub or Skill the device is connected through.
      • Toggle off Enabled to remove it temporarily from Alexa.
      • If you want to completely delete a device from the Alexa app, select the trash can icon.
    You will see Xbox in this section and you need to put it in the trash can.
