Removing the subtitle/cc from YouTube

Does anyone know of a way to remove the subtitle/cc from videos within the the YouTube app. Some videos have them and I find the irritating and would like to turn them off. It seems more and more videos are including them. I understand the need for them
but there should be a on off setting. I have looked in the app settings but don't see a subtitle/cc option.

What subtitle does work on the XBox

I know that a DVD subtitles will work (As long as it has subtitles encoded in it.) You enable them at the main menu of the dvd or the movie option bar in movie...

Most of the movies and Tv showson netflix have subtitles that you have to enable when you start that show.

Xfinity has them too in the app settings (I think their subtitle system is dumb though)

Some Youtube videos have the CC options

so recently or with updates i have seen subtitles get turned on on allot of systems..

for general subtitles go to my apps, settings, bottom has a thing with CC in it.. click on that and it allows you to turn off subtitles or close captioning in the system...

on netflix its a little different..

you have to be int he app start playing the video/tv show hit the a button and bring up the part that allows you to pause play fastforward... at the very end it looks like a small magazine click on that and it allowsyou to turn off close cationing in the netflix app..

 

Sorry to hear it. Although some youtube videos are hard coded and cannot be removed there are some that you can turn off.

While the video is playing simply press down on the thumbstick or D-Pad and highlight the 3 dots that you see. In the next menu you should see a CC option. Highlight it and press A and you should be shown an option to turn off the subtitles
