No. Whatever remaining subscription time is left on the account will still be there. If there isnt any other payment options on thr account with auto renew the account will just renew to a silver membership once the remaining membership is gone

Yes. You can't remove a payment method while you have an active subscription.

The credit card is tied to your gold membership. This is why it can't be removed. Simply go to billing.microsoft.com and add the new card. Then change it so that card is the primary method of payment and then remove the old one.

If you have problems doing this, give support a call and they can get it straightened out for you.
