Removing a creditcard from my account without adding a new option?

You must pay off the outstanding balance first

If not then turn off autorenewal on the console then wait till the active membership is done then remove it

Unless there is less then a month into the renewal.

In which case call support and ask for it to be removed and they will give you prepaid codes for the remaining balance of your membership

Hence why it can't be less then a month due to there is no codes for less. Then a month

i did this just yesterday using the account website, not using the console. i had an xbox live gold membership with auto renewal option, i had to turn that off prior to deleting the credit card info. There was less then a month to next renewal payment. Option
was turned off and my membership remains active until the day of the canceled renewal, so i didnt lose remaining days and i could remove the credit card info right after without waiting for membership to end.

this is easy to fix

add a new creditcard

you cannot remove a creditcard while there is an outstanding balance or an active membership attached to it

a prepaid cards only delay the autorenewal but does not unsuspend an account

only by added a creditcard and clearing the balance can you get unsuspended

the only people who can help with billing issues with creditcards is billing support



if https://billing.microsoft.com is not accepting it all you can do is call support

anyways i went into my account here and added a brand new never used creditcard on live (used it at the store but not here) from this website

too see if i would have issues it added the creditcard with no issues

mind you i'm from canada (maybe its a regional thing)

can you try adding the card here?

sign in and manage payment option (retype your mailing/billing address) add card

i'm not saying it will work for sure but it couldn't hurt to try if it works

Yes, the problem is. The "Add creditcard" page not only asks for my billing address, but also for a creditcard. And like stated before, I don't have one. So if you're willing to offer yours thanks a lot

Removed account from console, redownloaded profile. Removed paypal as option, added paypal as option.

PayPal / Xbox console and Microsoft account all have the same locale set and billing address matches.

Live chat with support:

"For some reason we are requiring a payment option for free downloads. But it does say Free!"

"The only way around this (mentioned previously) is to download directly from a Xbox 360. The Xbox.com site and the Xbox One will both require a valid payment method on file."

Don't have a Xbox 360. And do have a valid payment method on file. Still there is a problem.
