Remote Play, Xbox Button on Controller opening GamePass App or Android Home Screen

It was an idea for the Xbox app. The touch screen controls will act like a button in an Xbox controller when you connect it to Bluetooth while playing remote with your own Xbox.

"How to make sure your console is on the same network as the Android device:

• Start up the console and get to the home screen
• Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide
• Go to Settings
• Select Network
• Select Network Settings
• Open the network settings on your Android device
• Make sure the name of the network is the same on both devices (If you are using a dual-band router, make sure the Xbox One and tablet are both on the same frequency. The frequencies are 2.4 Ghz or 5.0 Ghz)

How to make sure the Xbox app connectivity preferences allow connections from any device on the Xbox One:

• Go to the home screen on the Xbox One

• Go to Settings
• Select Preferences
• Select Xbox app connectivity
• Make sure Allow connections from any device is selected

How to connect your Android device to your console:

• Open the Xbox app on your tablet
• Sign in to the application
• Open the menu and select Console

Having the same issue -- sometimes when i boot up, I can't do anything on the home screen with the controller, or the xbox one remote. If I start an app or game via Kinect, everything works within the context of that game/app, but if I hit the home button
or go home via Kinect, I'm still unable to do anything on the home screen. A recycle fixes it, but it is definitely frustrating.

Then remote.play wont work

Remote play ala xcloud is only available on gamepass ultimate

Game.streaming.via.the xbox companion app requires a xbox

Keep in mind you can't.use.the.xbox while you are.using.the wireless gamestreaming

Huh? Remote Play is nothing to do with Xcloud or Game Pass. And if it won't work, then how can they get it working on their Android device? And they have an Xbox so that's not the issue.

They are trying to Remote Play their Series X games from their Series X console to their PC via the Remote Play feature and using the Xbox App. This should work without an issue, as it does with their Android device. There is nothing on the Remote Play page to suggest Game Pass is needed

When you are using an app and want to get back to the Xbox home screen with the media remote, tap the Power On/Home button (the big "Xbox" button at the top) to reveal the guide and select "Home."

If you wish to completely close an app, press the Power On/Home button to access the guide, navigate the guide to highlight the app you wish to close, tap the Menu (hamburger) button, and navigate to "Quit" on the context menu.
