    Can I use remote play while someone is using the Xbox locally? We have two different sign in accounts on our Series X. If I want to remote play, can I without interrupting someone watching a movie locally on the Xbox using a different account? (Or even the same account?)

    Please keep in mind that playing remotely is essentially streaming the video that is happening on your console to a mobile phone or PC. This means that even if different accounts are used, you will always see what is happening locally on your console.

    If you want to play Xbox games while someone is watching a movie locally on the console, I recommend doing so through Xbox Cloud Gaming if you have a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

    Xbox Remote Play locked to 720p resolution with poor bitrate?

    This has less to do with the streaming capabilities of the Series X and more to do with the fact that even when using remote play locally the Xbox is routing traffic through the Azure datacenters which makes absolutely no sense.

    If you don't believe me go use remote play on an Xbox One X and it does not have this issue when using remote play locally.

    All my consoles are LAN and my PS5 has no issues outputting a 1080/60fps stream locally.

    It is a glaring issue that has been raised across a number of different forums online and it makes no sense.

    Has less to do with folks internet setups and more to do with bad decision making from MS

    An internet connection is required to enable and use Remote Play, but the remote stream will only go through your local network. Other data such as authentication has to be sent through Microsoft servers when using Remote Play.

    Remote Play works fine on a local connection. The issue arises when using the Xbox Live servers to access it remotely.

    As you can see from the tests, the latency connecting to the Xbox Live servers sits at around 300ms which is the heart of the issue.

    I’ll submit feedback to Xbox Insiders, requesting the implementation of local South African servers. It’s years overdue now.
