    Remote Play (PC) - Resolution


    I no longer have a working TV & I've been using remote play for a while now as it's worked out well for me.

    My only issue is that it's 720p maximum (my LAN/WAN supports way over what 1080p streaming would require) but it doesn't budge. I just want to be able to stream remote play in 1080p. I've seen previous posts on other forums about a beta testing app, which allowed for 1080p - but cannot find anywhere to get access to it.

    Is there some setting I am not aware of that I can enable?

    Nilay here and I'm glad to answer your query today.

    There was an app names "OneCast". But now there is none. So, unfortunately you need to stay with 720p.

    UPDATE:

    I got a long ethernet cable run to my XSX and now PC remote play works. I would say that PC remote play is much pickier about its network connection to the Xbox than Android is, probably because it plays at a higher resolution.

    Thanks all for trying to help diagnose. MS needs to improve their requirements documentation and error messaging!

    I CAN'T DO STREAMING because of the bad 720p remote play resolution on my pc.

    The only way is hdmi2.1 capture card, I wait it for a long time. Lucky Avermedia and ASUS announced it recently.

    Even I don‘t use wifi，my pc and xbox both use Network cable connect to my router，it also 720p. PS5 remote play is 1080p,xbxplay is a third-party Android remote play app， it have 1080p，but the official not support. What a shame.

    Hello JustManty, yes, for now the maximum resolution of remote play is 720p and unfortunately it is not possible to increase the resolution, doesn't matter what Xbox you have or network.

    If you play on the phone it will be at 720p. If you play on your PC with the Xbox Test App, it will be at 720p or newer at 1080p test mode.
