    Remote play from another country


    Hi Everyone,

    I am currently based in Bahrain and trying to connect to my Xbox Series X back in the UK. When I first tried it on the WiFi network here, using my iPad, it managed to connect but I did not have a controller at the time and just quit the application. Now that I have a controller it will no longer connect and always says ‘Try again in a while’.

    A friend of mine has also recently been posted to the same area but he brought his Xbox with him; he had the same - the initial connection worked and then it stopped when he tried again. He can now only sign in to his XBox if he uses his phone as a hotspot.

    I have a theory that the initial connection worked but then subsequent attempts have been flagged as suspicious and aren’t allowed through as our WiFi has a built in VPN that cannot be disabled.

    Here’s what I have tried.

    Resetting iPad

    Power cycle of Xbox in UK (thanks to my son)

    Two different WiFi networks (both have built-in VPN but I have also tried with and without my own VPN on the iPad)

    Hotspot to local mobile network

    All now say the same thing, ‘Try again in a while’.

    I can access XCloud gaming but this only works on one of the networks and I have to have my VPN enabled on my iPad to say I’m back in the UK. Unfortunately the input lag is too noticeable and makes a lot of the games unplayable.

    Of note, I do not and cannot get access to the router.

    Any ideas?

    Well you do know what the issue is right?

    It's your geoip

    It doesn't matter if you use a vpn

    It doesn't solve your basic problem which ic your AcTUAL LOCATION

    The farther you are from a server the more lag you receive

    This is why localized servers are better

    And ontop of this you are using a vpn which is latency in itself

    We can't help because you are trying a method trying to bypass the regional restrictions which is actually causing your problems.

    You would literally have to upgrade your vpn package for faster speeds or more bandwidth that you have to address with your provider and if it free one what did you expect

    They have to pay for bandwidth too

    And it a violation of the rules of Xbox live

    While not in a supported region.that's what I'm referring to

    CLOUD and it's geo ip based

    Rerouting Services into.a different region is against.the rules (cloud not.remote.play)

    CONCERNINg your other issue the issue is exactly as stated

    Your problem.is your Location

    YOU.must.have.a fast and .stable connection

    Going into.another country and with a vpn.won't solve your issue this is going to cause latency

    Ping your own home ip address and watch the milliseconds

    That.tells you the latency

    The further you are the worse connection you will have

    Remote.play and xcloud don't work well in different countries

    They are designed to work locally with any console

    You’re quite wrong, you cannot use a VPN to gain rewards based on geographical location. That’s not what I’m trying to do, I’m trying to connect to my Xbox.

    Hey PeterHowell2, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    Is there someone that has access to your console at this moment?

    If so, ask this person to do this on it:

    First, clean the cache of your console that way:

    1. With the console turned on, hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until you hear a small sound.

    2. Wait 10 seconds.

    3. Turn it back on.

    Note: It may take a while for it to turn on, don't worry, it's normal.

    Then, restore your console keeping the games and apps:

    ***IMPORTANT*** If you share accounts with someone, you will have to redo the process of placing the account as the main one again, be aware of the chances you still have to do this, as Microsoft makes available per year, only 5 chances so you can make some account your console's main account. Make Sure to know all passwords and email addresses of your accounts, you will need to log then back in. :)

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

    2. Select System > Settings > System > Console Information >

    3. Select Reset console > Restore and keep my games and apps.

    4. When asked to pull settings from an old Xbox, choose no, thanks

    5. You will have to log in to your accounts again, and when you sign in with your account, make sure you turn it has your home console also, that's it.

    NOTE: Rest assured, you won't lose games or saves

    Than, ask this person to enable the remote features:

    Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.

    Select the Enable remote features checkbox.

    If Russia falls under the PAL console region, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to.
