    Remote play doesn't work over cellular data?


    The old Xbox app doesn't support remote play anymore. Your forced to go to "xbox.com/remoteplay" and download the new app to use that feature. But it dose not work anymore over cellular phone data. I can use it over WiFi no problem but when I use cellular data it goes black screen and nothing. The old app worked perfectly fine with my phone no problems at all. I my cellular data speed is more than enough to handle the streaming to my phone because like I said I used it with the old app without any problems or lagging at all. So what should I do ?

    I tested my remote play yesterday at home. My iphone wifi was off and i connected over cellular with no issues. today nothing works. not wifi, not cellular. i click remote play and the jet appears and then i just get the same error message as others above.

    I am having the exact same problem. My iPhone running IOS 16 works great when using remote play from my Xbox series S (on the same Wi-Fi). However, if I am trying to use cellular 5G, it doesn’t work. I have tried everything and I can guarantee that this is an issue with the Xbox app or with IOS. If you are using iOS 15, you won’t have any issues using Xbox remote play over cellular. I have tested and can confirm that if you try and initiate an Xbox remote play session over cellular, it will send a signal that turns on your Xbox (I am sitting in front of my monitor), but on your phone’s screen, you will get an error message that says “We found your console but can't connect. Try from a different Wi-Fi or cellular network.”

    Please fix this Microsoft.

    Please also note that I work in the industry as a technology support specialist. I am part of the IT service desk that supports over 237,000 users. So, I have tried everything and unfortunately, this needs to be fixed on Microsoft’s end.

    Please also note that PlayStation remote play works flawlessly over cellular on IOS 16.

    Please also note that I have the latest version of IOS 16.1.1 and I also have the latest version of the Xbox app 2022.11.2

    I have this same exact issue. Cloud gaming works great over my 5G connection, but once I started with iOS 16, I can no longer remote play with my super fast cellular connection. I mean, heck, my cellular connect is faster than my WiFi.

    I don't know who is to blame here, Apple or MS. But one thing is for sure, it's not working as it should.

    following this, I’ve been having the same issue lately; months ago i could remote play over cellular with no issue, now i get the same message but with this error code. However remote play works just fine when i’m connected to wi-fi, and not just my home wi-fi.

    I’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps but nothing seems to work.

    I have Verizon wireless for cellular, iphone 14 pro max running ios 16.1.2, the xbox app is up to date and my xbox is a wired connection with 40Mbps upstream.
