    Remote play disconnects intermittently.


    I recently started to try remote play on my phone, and laptop but have issues with each. My laptop gave quite blurry image quality and lagged a bit, but the Android phone seemed quite good so I bought a phone holder for my controller. I tested in the same room as my console originally.

    I am trying to play in my kitchen and the phone disconnects every minute or so and I have to restart the app. The WiFi logo appears in the top left and shows an exclamation point intermittently.

    My Series X is one room above in my living room, my router is in the kitchen with me. An ethernet cable is not really practical due to distance/not wanting wires all up the stairs going through the house.

    I have a Huawei Mate 20 pro, Series X, latest Sky Q hub which I believe does WiFi 5 ghz. It is super fast fibre broadband. All my other equipment works fine, says I have an excellent connection. I play multilayer online games on my Series X with zero issues and a really good ping.

    I've seen people on YouTube play with WiFi and seemingly no issues, any ideas?

    Thanks for your reply. I have tried the combinations you suggest and:

    Primary: 1.1.1.1 / Secundary: 1.0.0.1 - still intermittent; wireless keeps disconnecting.

    Primary: 8.8.8.8 / Secundary: 8.8.4.4 - still intermittent; wireless keeps disconnecting.

    It still isn't seeing the ethernet cable at all.

    Could be another electrical device interfering with your signal,I'd try turning off as many devices as possible,also try different locations for router and Xbox,maybe try a cabled connection see how that works as well

    I followed the steps that I was given and they also referred me to a forum thread where someone was using the same exact router as me and he broke it down step by step. And It isn't possible for me to run an ethernet cord across my house, i tried an ethernet
    cord running to my rnage extender and that didn't help

    Hey Toxicityy. Sorry about the delay. I have been searching for some direction on how to configure the wireless network for your device, but I am unable to find anything relevant. Do you still have instruction manual by chance? Also, is it possible to connect
    directly to your gateway for just a few minutes? I understand it you can't use that as a permanent solution, but if you could just try it out, that will help us troubleshoot. Let us know.
