    Been trying to get Remote Play to be usable for the past day. The results are stuttering audio/video and input lag. Most of the times while launching the connection it says 'Launching with cloud gaming' even though I'm on the same network...

    • Xbox Series X on Ethernet?
    • iPad Pro on Wifi 5GHz?
    • iPad try sitting 1m from Router?
    • Same network segment?
    • Jumbo Frames enabled?
    • Reboot EVERYTHING?
    • Make sure using ISP DNS?
    • Nat Type Open?
    • Router: Asus AC86U
    • iPad, Xbox and Synology (Used for local speed-tests) are connected to the above router.
    I'm at a complete loss... During a streaming session I noticed many DNS calls to what appear to be xCloud API services, but the stream itself seemed to stay local, albeit at an extremely low bitrate (500Kbps).

    My local network speed-tests show: (Speed test performed using an applet hosted on a local Synology, was interested to test wifi 5ghz speed)

    • iPad Pro Wifi: 357Mbps D/166Mbps U/3ms ping/0.9ms jitter
    • Xbox: 990Mbps D/1000Mbps U/1ms ping/0ms jitter
    Wifi performance could be better from where I sit now, but still should be well within acceptable range...

    What else can I try?

    I have been fighting with this issue for so long I’d given up, then pow along you came with a solution that has worked SO well it feels like I’m actually on the TV not the iPad. Seriously mate, well done.

    My NAT was reporting as opened, and both an internal speed-test and an external test (using the Xbox Remote Play test) showed acceptable speeds.

    I updated my initial post with a potential resolution that's been working for 3-days now smoothly. My 5GHz network configuration may have been an issue.

    I hope you are doing well today. Welcome to the Xbox Community. Thank you for reaching out to Xbox Forums. You are experiencing some issues with the Xbox remoteplay app? Are you using xbox,com/play or are you using the Xbox app on iOS that allows you to remote play? The reason I am asking is because you mention the "Launching with cloud gaming" when attempting to remote play. I attempted to reproduce your issue on my end in testing remoteplay on my iOS devices and did not run into that specific issue and messaging when launching. Could you please provide a pic of when you launch and get that messaging? I am happy to help and see if I could provide some suggestions to hopefully fix your problem. Unfortunately, when it comes to troubleshooting network issues relating to game streaming, its hard to fully provide a complete solution. Let's start with a simple screenshot and go from there.

    Today when launching, 2 times It produced the "Launching with Cloud Gaming" graphic.

    Since opening this I had done more research and found some 5GHz configuration changes that seemed to have resolved the stuttering. (I've updated my initial post with more info in case others make their way here)

    Since making those changes, I've not been seeing the 'Launching with Cloud gaming' wording. If I am able to reproduce this, I will certainly send an update. To answer your other question, I was using the Xbox App iOS App.

    For reference, I also opened a Reddit thread where there were other suggestions here
