Remote disconnecting from Xbox one

I currently own an Xbox one. I am not sure what remote I originally had but it started draining batteries very quickly and was not responding/performing as well as it should have. The remote then started disconnecting randomly during gaming sessions I was having with others. I assumed my remote was just getting old so I bought a new one (Microsoft Xbox Wireless Controller). I started using this one and almost immediately it was having similar problems. The charge in the batteries holds fine and the controller performs as it should, but multiple times while playing the controller will disconnect from my Xbox. I have tried updating my controller, and that helped a little. By doing the update it made my controller stop disconnecting every 10 minutes to disconnecting every 30 minutes or so. I am not too far away from my gaming counsel as I literally move my chair and sit right in front of the tv/console while I am playing. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting my remote to my Xbox as well. Everything I have done thus far has slightly improved the disruptions in that they don’t happen as often, but it is almost guaranteed to happen at least once during a 1 hour gaming session. Please let me know what there is to do about this as it is super annoying. Thank you!!!

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. I have not tried resetting my Xbox console at this time

2. I have not tried using a USB cable for my controller at this time

3. I have updated/continued to check for updates for my Xbox console. At this time it is currently up to date and the problem is still occurring.

I've tried leaving it disconnected from the power, when I reconnect it to the mains it turned on by itself, with the 'phantom' control in the player one position. I don't have a media remote for the Xbox, or did you mean any remote at all?
