Remnant 2 on pc gamepass crashes after selecting character to fatal error.

I have been playing this and since the latest update on the 2nd I keep getting a fatal error crash after selecting my character. I have tried reinstalling the game and all drivers are up to date. Is there any fix that you have found for this or am I just stuck only playing on xbox? I would love to play more on my pc but it just won't let me get past the character select screen.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX

32GB Ram

3070 laptop GPU

Installed on Gen3 NVME SSD

Hopefully we can get it working again and not have to reinstall windows.

I've found that with a couple games that wont run on my regular sign in (including Remnant II) which is a 365 login. Creating a second admin user for windows not connected to 365 and games run fine. It's some kind of permissions issue that I haven't been able to figure out. Xbox game pass games all work perfectly fine (including Remnant II). Some other games on other services, mainly epic and ubi, don't seem to run right or at all and I have to use a second local admin windows account and it all seems to work fine. Kind of a pain and I'm thinking of switching to just the local account only.

Got Remnant II on epic as it was on sale and the 33% off made it like $20 so I can play with my friends who don't have game pass as they won't cross play.

I have done all that and still doesn't work. Is there any other specific fixes I can try instead of the ole copy paste answers we get in this community?

I just encountered the same issue where the game would crash after hitting start game from the character select screen, with it crashing while loading.

Ive fixed this for myself by - creating a new character and skipping tutorial which puts you straight in Ward 13. Then quit back to main menu and select your original character, no idea why this worked for me but it’s worth a try!

Update -

I figured out the issue but don’t know how to fix it with Xbox game pass.

The latest update corrupted my latest save file. The steam version of this game fix is here https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/s/BEdGOVmpkI

You have to roll back your save to a previous save and your game will work. I even started a new character to test it out and no issue, game started right up.

But I don’t want to lose my 60 hour character, and on Xbox game pass it doesn’t save the game the same way steam does.

Anyone know how to roll back your save with a game pass save file?
