    Hi, I wonder who currently owns the rights to Outwars?

    Maybe a few old gamer know the game Outwars. It was released in 1998 by Microsoft, they probably still have the rights.
    The Game was developed by SingelTrac
    which was bought by the French company Inforgrames. Inforgrames is nowAtari,Sa and bankruptcy.

    I think a remake would be a great thing. You just have to have a good mix of "Aliens movie from the year 1986" a littel bit of Anthem (but not so bad) and some nasty slimy alien caves.
    A good story had the first part more or less.

    A left behind soldier.
    His jetpack and his weapon. The feeling of oppressive loneliness and the danger behind every pulsing lump.
    And of course not to forget the fast shrinking ammunition count. Remake or second part of Outwars :D

    I think with today's graphical possibilities this would be a fantastic singelplayer or coop experience.

    I think it should work on Win 10 without much effort.
    I played it last about 2 years ago on Win 10.
    The only downside is that the cutscenes are not played and they drive the story.

    Based on some Wikipedia digging, Outwars was developed by SingleTrac with was bought out by GT Interactive, and was later bought by Infrogames (Atari). Atari would be my best guess.

    Honestly, I've never heard of the game but it sounds interesting.

    Yeah, I personally don't want to see a remake of it. It was good as is. It's part of the past now.
