Thanks for coming to the forums. If this is a standard controller they only have a 90 day warranty. If you purchased this back in November than you no longer have a warranty on the controller. You would need to purchase a new one.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Xbox One controller not working properly.

I recommend to try the following:

1. How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console(Disconnect and reconnect your console's power cable)
   
2. Connect a wireless Xbox One controller to your console
   
3. Troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless controller
   

If the problem persists, try doing a soft factory reset of the console,
Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
