Rejoining Xbox - Old username associated with old email, new email automatically generated...

Thanks for the reply. You could utilize the
home console until the subscription expires than get it on the other account. Otherwise, yea you could get it on the new account once add the email.

Hi Brad - Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I just started the £1 free trial Xbox Game Pass so I can play on my PC with some friends - do you know if I go down the route of your suggestion if I'll be able to associate that service with the new email,
or do you think I should just spend another £1 and sign up with the new email?

Just so that we are on the same page here.

A1= old account with old email

A2= New account with new unwanted gamertag.

As long as A2 is not a Microsoft (MS) server email (outlook, Hotmail, live, msn.com) it is possible to move that email to A1. There is some moving around that would need to be done but it is possible.

The ONLY thing this is going to do is change the email that is used to sign into your MS account.

Again so that we are on the same page you signed up for game pass on A1 correct?

ONLY FOLLOW these directions if A2 is NOT a MS server email if you follow these directions and remove A2 from the current MS account it is on it will be gone forever and never be able to be gotten back.

1. Sign into A2 at account.live.com/addassocid and verify ownership of account.

2. Choose add a new (outlook account) this is just adding a new email to this account so we can free up A2s current email.

3. Make new dummy email the primary email on A2.

4. Remove the email that you want on A1 This will free up that email as long as it is not a MS server email to be put on A1.

5. Sign out of A2.

6. Sign into A1 at account.live.com/addassocid and verify account.

7. Choose add an existing email put in the email that you just removed from A2 it will send a verification code in an email to that email to verify that you have ownership and access to that email.

You can then make that email the primary email for the MS account for A1 and if you want you can remove that old email from the account or leave it on there it does not matter.

Again this is only changing the email used to sign into the account with everything else will be the same as far as Billing info, subscriptions, security proofs (were verification codes are sent to).

Thanks for coming to the forums. Unfortunately, since they both have a gamer tag associated to them. You are unable to use the email together. However if you create a non-Microsoft domain email, and do not get a gamer tag assigned. You can add it to the
old account and make it the primary email.

Hey there Medal! Are you still having issues with this? Did you log into xbox.com with the new email before changing your old email to this new email? Doing so will automatically assign an auto-generated gamertag to the email.

Let us know and we'll work from there! ^_^
