Region Lock Gift Code but did not receive warning.

I bought a $40 game code for a friend in a different region and he can't redeem it but I never got a warning about a region lock or anything of the sort. I have never bought something for someone in a different region and so had no idea about this. Is there a way for him to still get a code, or do I have to go through the hassle of getting a refund?

They won't do anything since the terms are given before the transaction is completed.

What I am saying is I never got that warning, and was never made aware until I actually researched it myself. I wanted to know if Microsoft could fix it since their system failed to warn me. There was no warning window or prompt on my 1TB Xbox One.

Wow they put the warning in fine print. Well alrighty then. Thanks for the help, they should really think about a different approach to it.

You would have to try getting a refund or give the code to someone else. The system does warn you before you complete the transaction that code will only work in your region.

Gifting has always been region locked it is the first warning you received when purchasing the gift
