Regarding Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 and Xbox series X controllers

Currently, I have an Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/adapters/wireless-adapter-windows

I also have two Xbox Series X Controllers.

In the product description of the adapter: "Features a 66% smaller design, wireless stereo sound support, and the ability to connect up to eight controllers at once." But I'm currently having problems connecting multiple controllers to a single adapter.

After connecting the first controller to the adapter, I can't connect the second one. Whenever I try to connect the second one, the Xbox button on the controller would just blink and blink for a couple of seconds and then the controller would vibrate. After that, the Xbox button's light just stopped. I tried to connect the second one the same way I connected the first one, I pressed the Xbox button then hold the sync button for 3 seconds, then I press the button on the adapter but it wouldn't work.

The only solution I have right now is to connect one using the adapter and one using Bluetooth. However, I still want to connect both of them through the USB adapter. Is there a way to do this or am I missing something.

Hello there guys, just wanna ask if the Xbox Series X Controller is compatible with the Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 ?

Also, is there gonna be a newer version of the wireless adapter for Windows 10 destined for the Series X controller ?

The original XBox Elite controller requires the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 so without that adapter it will not be recognized properly by Windows. The newer, Elite Series 2 can connect to a Windows 10 PC without the need of an adapter.

We understand that you are trying to connect multiple controllers to your Wireless adapter. Let's check on this together so you will get back to gaming.

Try removing your controllers from the Bluetooth paired state by pressing Start > Settings > Devices then click on the controllers and Remove device.

Make sure the batteries on both controllers have enough charge. Pair one controller

Press and release the controller’s Pair button on the adapter. The controller LED will blink while it's connecting. Once it connects, the LED on the adapter and controller will both stay lit.
Turn off the paired controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button for about 5 seconds until the light shuts off.
Pair the second controller the same way.

Open the game you wish to play and turn on the second controller and see if it registers as the second player. When I tried this myself, one controller did not want to turn on and connect. When I switched the batteries and turned on the game and then did one controller at a time, it worked for me.

The problem is not with any XBOX console, but when you use the headset with Windows 10. Only on PC you have such problems.

Yes, it's connected with xbox wireless adapter.

I have XBOX SERIES X and there is not problem there.

The Xbox One Wireless controller with Bluetooth can be connected to a Windows 10 PC with a USB cable, Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, so yes, it can be connected via the adapter. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is not
compatible with an Xbox 360 controller and will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. I'll provide the support articles with this information:
