Regarding Xbox Elite S2 Controllers

Hi

I bought an elite controller from an Amazon store seller claiming it was brand new. Upon opening the package I am having my doubts but wanted to double check a few things before pointing fingers for a refund

I plugged in my Elite controller and input the serial code on the back and noticed my warranty was already out by 5 months. Upon using the xbox app I also noticed the controller was named "It's coming home". Are new controllers named? I was under the believe they shouldn't be, and the warranty should be new too upon registering it for the first time should it not?

Apologies for the potentially silly question but this is a lot of money for a controller that it potentially not as specified. Many thanks in advance

Footnote; If you don't feel completely comfortable with the purchase, then you can refund it and get one from the Microsoft store instead.
