Regarding Xbox app and Windows Reinstall

Hi I have a couple of games on game pass. It is to my understanding that unlike Steam, due to game pass and xbox app encryption, it is not possible to tell xbox app to find installed games in a new/different Windows install.

However, before knowing this, I do recall that when I had a new Windows install, the xbox app games folder on other drives, remained encrypted and whenever I tried to delete that folder it said "You don't have permission to do this". I was never able to remove these folders and they kept using space in the drive and my only option was to zero-filling format that hard drive, this is something I cannot afford this time.

So my question is, how do I successfully uninstall and remove these folders before I reinstall Windows?

I uninstalled game by game and then unnistalled the app, yet what I feared, this folder is holding up space and I cannot manually delete it because it says I don't have the permissions

Yes, uninstalling the games will delete all the files in the game folder too.

Hello, thank you for your reply, but I believe that's not true. As I stated, previously, when i reinstalled Windows, Xbox app games ON OTHER drives, remained there and undeletable. Would just uninstalling the games work?

May I know did you try to delete the folder too?

Don't worry we will work on this together. There'll be no option or way to locate the game folders if they're from the Game Pass but once you uninstall the Windows OS, all of the files in the OS will be removed.
