Regarding warranty during this time (the lockdown)

Hi, recently my warranty expired on one of my xbox consoles. It was supposed to be sent away a few weeks ago but was unable to due to the lockdown in the UK.

I have tried to contact someone through the virtual agent about this but cant seem to get in contact with anyone so I thought I'd try here.

I had it sent away before because of some bad coil whine and it was fixed, but it seemed only temporarily as now it sounds as if its getting worse (pretty much imagine hearing a faint, high pitch whistling that worsens the more intense the game is.

Would it be possible for the warranty expiration to be postponed due to this or am I out of luck?

Also, I noticed the warranty only lasted me a year. I thought standard was 2 years for UK and EU on electronics.

Lastly, does microsoft have an alternative to UPS? Would it be possible to send them the device via royal mail post office?

Hi.

It never gave me an option to call so I tried to request one through the virtual agent but I can't seem to get through.

Scheduled times keep changing for when I can call them each day (today it showed as 4:00pm - 12:30am) and when every time I attempt to contact them during the opened hours, it'll tell me they're having trouble connecting me whenever I type in my number for
them to call me back.

Any other ways I can get in contact with them about this? My xbox has now reached a point where it now makes a deep pulsing hum that it never made before in any game and a couple of times it has randomly shut off.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have questions on a repair. We recommend requesting a call from support and speak with an agent. We here on the forums cant give information out like this as we are not sure of support decisions.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----click on Contact us
Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next

Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.
