    Regarding playing xbox series x offline.


    I have noticed one thing about my xbox series x when offline. If I shut down my console and unplug the power cable after that, when I switch it on next day my xbox time resets to 2019. I have tried manually setting the time but it resets after unplugging and plugging. This happens only when I unplug the power cable. If I keep my console plugged in this problem doesn't happen, even after my console is shut down. It keeps time. So is this normal? Does xbox series x have an internal battery to keep time like a PC even when unplugged or does it need either internet or power to the power supply to keep time? BTW this is a new console. Greetings from India.

    Consoles are usually always connected to Wi-Fi, so it's unlikely to notice this absence.

    I also thank you for asking this question. I believe it can be useful to know this information and not worry about the health of our Xbox if this happens.

    I have to tell you that you sparked my curiosity, and I tried it with mine, even though it's an S series. Of course, I can't give you the technical details, but I can confirm that, when disconnected from power and without a network connection, the console reset to 2019. It's likely that the connection is so crucial that they didn't include a backup battery for the date.

    I think I know now why they exclude a battery. Console parts can't be changed and these batteries die after a while. On PC we have the option to change stuff. Also, I asked a friend of mine who has a PS5 and he has this same time thing too. Thank you for clearing my confusion. I was afraid about my xbox health.
