Regarding Offline Permissions

I need help resetting my 'Offline permissions enabled' Counter for PC Gamepass.

Kind of in a pickle as..Quite a few games require it and i was not aware there was a limit until i've hit the limit.

As im not the only one using the machine there were times where it's been swapped to and Fro from my Handheld and the Actual PC so it gets used up real quickly when the 'accidents' do happen.

But when i tried to swap it back to my main PC it has prompted me that i had used it all up and i had to wait a full YEAR from now to get those chances back??

Like a full year!? Is it possible for Support to reset them for me? Uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn't reset it. I've tried(You might never know, It might work.)

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum. I hope you're doing well.

As stated on this article that you can only change your designated offline device three times per year. The only way to regain offline access to your games is to wait until the counter resets, which will happen one year after the first time you enabled offline permissions. You can check the date of your next reset in the Xbox app settings under Offline devices. Play games on Windows 10/11 using offline mode | Xbox Support

I understand that a full year is way too long, but there's nothing more we can do to expidite the process. The only option is to wait since we cannot reset the process.

But what happened is i had not activated the "offline permissions" option

in the xbox (beta) app:

settings>general>offline permissions

You can start the game offline but you need an account first and enable offline permissions in the Microsoft Store app on your Windows.

Open the app, go to Microsoft Store settings and enable offline permissions.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

It depends on the game, if the game is capable of offline gaming you can definitely just click "offline permission" on your Microsoft Store App. Then try to play any of your games.

You can also make your primary PC "offline permissions" in Windows Store app settings, which will make you able to play offline. This way even if you account is set on multiple devices your PC with Offline permissions will always have priority and won't
ever encounter this error.
