Regarding backwards compatible purchases on the xbox one

Many times I have attempted to purchase backward compatible games one the xbox one using funds added to the account through gift cards and such, only to find that for some ridiculous reason using the account funds is not an option. In short: YOU SHOULD BE
ALLOWED TO USE ACCOUNT FUNDS FOR ANY AND ALL PURCHASES ON THE STORE, PERIOD. SO MAKE IT SO.

Downloaded titles on 360 also be playable on xbox one?

Since the game is not backwards compatible, you would need to purchase the One version of the game in order to play it on the One. You can see all backwards compatible games here - Available games

Watchdogs is not backwards compatible. So you would have to purchase the One version in order to play it on the One. Xbox One Backward Compatibility

 

Hi, you're right, we should be able to use our account funds, but this isn't the best place to ask for this to happen. You should create a post on the
xboxideas.uservoice.com website about it. The more votes it get's the more chance it will happen.

 

Best way around it is to use pre-paid cards (Visa, MC) which I have used in the past to get around this.

You can't use the money in your Microsoft account to purchase content from the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

To resolve this issue, purchase the item on your Xbox 360 console, where you can use your Microsoft account balance to make purchases.
