Refund service order instead of getting another replacement

I had a controller that had issues and one of the buttons wouldn’t work. It was out of warranty so I called Microsoft to have another elite series 2 sent to me (as my controller is limited edition and I didn’t want it replaced with a regular one). The controller they sent me was fine at first glance but a week later when I realized that I couldn’t tighten or loosen the right joystick and the left joystick makes loud clicking noises. I just want to opt for a refund of the service order and send the device back so I can get my $85 I spent on the order to just buy a new one. Will I be able to contact support and send in this controller that they sent me and just get a refund instead of receiving ANOTHER replacement??

I did not activate the Microsoft warranty as it was out of warranty and I had to purchase the replacement controller that was sent to me. The controller is faulty and I want a refund of the replacement order and return the faulty controller sent to me

Hello Connor, unfortunately it is not possible, whenever you activate the Microsoft warranty your control will be replaced by another one.

No you would have to contact ms store which would fall under their refund policy which is 30 days

Whenever you buy a replacement you don't get reimburses since you did jt on your own
