    I bought a game called Dirt Rally 2 on the Windows Store (digital store platform). It took me over a week to install the game as it kept generating errors (the various car add-on packss were trying to install
    before the base game), and then when I finally got it to install I realised I did not enjoy it and decided to ask for a refund. I played maybe 5 minutes of the game which should be easily verifiable by Microsoft.

    I tried using the Windows Store to request a refund but there was no option. The store simply informs you that this means you may not be eligible for a refund. A few days passed and I decided to try again. This time I tried calling
    them, but their support centres are closed, so that didn't work.

    I then tried their online chat support, which is AI and not human powered. I had the same issue - it kept funneling me towards the Windows Store, which had no option to request a refund.

    Finally, yesterday, I clicked the Xbox option rather than the Windows Store option (it's hard to explain this from memory, you'd have to use the chat system - basically it gives you multiple choice answers depending on your input).
    I don't own an xbox, I have never owned an xbox, and I bought the Game on a PC using the Windows Store. Regardless, selecting 'xbox' finally took me to an xbox page where my game was listed with a 'request refund' button that was not greyed out.

    I requested a refund, and today I received the following email:

    >I understand you're requesting a refund. Here's what I found out after looking into your request:

    > We can’t provide a refund to this request. It’s been longer than our refund policy allows for digital game products. Thanks for understanding

    Your service request number is 1499166407 in case you need it.

    It was requested about 12 hours outside their two week window, and only because of the illogical, confusing hoops I had to jumop through to get the game refunded.

    I have contacted the ACCC here in Australia as my understanding is that I am entitled to a refund by law, and Microsoft cannot apply their own rules overiding these laws.

    However I would rather not have to proceed with this headache, so am hoping someone can help me out. I also have a version of FOrza Horiszon 4 which will not run (widely reported issue) so my experience with MS store is terrible.
    A hopeless platform.

    Regardless of the outcome I will be uninstalling the Windows Store by whatever means I can find and never, ever purchase anything from Microsoft again outside of the OS which is essential unfortunately. Worst customer support I've
    ever experienced. OSX is a much better environment, I just wish the hardware supported games better.

    I think that people are allow one refund request as it says below Microsoft reserves the right to deny any refund request. best to call support.

    "All refunds must be requested at the same time through customer support (i.e. one refund request per customer). Proof-of-purchase documentation may be required. Microsoft reserves the right to deny any refund request that it deems to be fraudulent."

    Seems very unfair. They're selling something on their platform that doesn't work, they should refund it or, better yet, fix the bug.

    Either way, xbox supposedly do refund games that don't work (in this case I can't even access it), so telling me that I have reached my refund limit for the year is not a valid reason due to that being a load of bull.

    Im sure Nintendo would have refunded me...

    Thats so absurd!!!!!! Its a perfect example of microsofts lies and deceptive business practices on its consumers!!!!! Seriously so why even bother giving 14 days??? Why not just be honest and admit we know its broke but we dont care you bought it its your problem now. Thank you for not having a choice choosing microsoft, and have a bingwonderful day. Besides our terms of service agreement unclearly. ( to the non law degree holding average type human ) stipulates we are intirely free to do what ever we want, with no accountability what so ever, because we said so with all them there fancy lawyer type words!!!!! That sure would save us non law types a lot of headaches knowing that.
    its the same with most platforms, sony won't refund if you so much as download 1 MB of the game. steam has the same policy but is quite relaxed and if you have a legit issue they will refund no problems.

    but all other launchers and platforms have the same refund limits.

    Ah, the more than 2 hours one would definitely do it because I really wanted to give it a chance. But I don't understand as I've played Battlefield 5 for more than 2 hours and I was able to refund it. But its a digital game why does it matter that if you played it for more than 2 hours or so? That's so weird and confusing. Especially if the game is extremely unplayable, which it was for me personally.
