    Refund request denied erroneously and closed - how can I reopen the case?


    While using my Xbox One console, I accidentally purchased the PC version of a game instead of the Xbox version. After troubleshooting for a couple of hours I finally realized what had happened and requested a refund so I can purchase the proper version of
    the game instead of wasting 125NZD.

    However, my request was denied and the support case was closed. The reason given was "Our refund policy does not allow refunds for digital game products that have been played or consumed" which doesn't make any sense because I have not played the game. I
    don't even have a PC to play it on! (I'm using a Macbook to post this)

    I replied to the email but have not gotten a response. I've searched everywhere online for a way to re-open my case but of course cannot find anything. I've looked for some way to chat with a human online about the problem but can't find anything. I live
    in New Zealand so I would prefer not to spend more money making an international call to some service center where I'll be put on hold for hours. I'm hoping someone here may know what I can do next.

    How on Earth could I have confused those 2 games!? <--- sarcasm

    I didn't even know I could purchase PC games from the Xbox so I didn't think to check what system the game was for. There wasn't even a popup warning saying that I wouldn't be able to play it on the console I was purchasing it from. What a sleazy business
    practice: trick someone into buying something they can't use and then refuse to refund their money.

    Well after a few attempts to get Microsoft support to actually help me, they still refuse to refund my money or even transfer the purchase to the XBox version of the game. They're still making the ridiculous statement that they don't do refunds for games
    that have been played and refuse to provide any data on how they have determined that I've played the game (which I haven't).

    Now I have no choice but to escalate the issue in any way I can and contact a lawyer to explore my options. I've been a loyal XBox owner for nearly 20years but sadly Microsoft cares so little for their costumers that they don't deserve that loyalty so I'm
    canceling my XBox Live memebership as well.

    I'm sure this post will be taken down but for any future readers, steer clear of Microsoft. They really don't care about you.

    Yeah, it should be seen by a refund specialist. It still doesn't guarantee they will issue a refund though.

    I was worried that my reply would just go to some bot user inbox and never be seen. There's no information on the email about how to get in touch. They just rejected and closed my request with no further discussion.
