Refund or Gift

As per the terms of the gift once redeemed it can't be refunded

Gifts can only be refund if it hasn't been redeemed

If any of those conditions are met.you cannot refund it

The refund policy otherwise only apply for Purchased games not gifted games under 14 days or 2hours of gameplay

Gift games.conditions are unused or Same region as the gifter that's it

This is the same with any giftcard

I haven't encountered any company that doesn't refund gift cards and Microsoft itself refunds Microsoft Store gift cards, it's only Xbox gift cards that seem to be non-refundable for reasons no one can explain to me. Guess I'm just screwed

You can request a refund by signing in to https://xbox.com/refunds.

I would recommend waiting for the email from the refund team before re-purchasing the game as a gift. When purchasing the game as a gift you will see the "Buy as a gift" option.

It was within 10 minutes of my request. But I bought it as a gift also and it seems they have this policy.

Now the gift was 'redeemed by the gift recipient' but obviously she cant play it because she doesnt have the base game and now there is no way to request a refund. So that kind o' sucks but hey I did get my refund and she has Xbox One so we can purchase the base game and all will be ok.

Please refrain from creating multiple threads regarding the same issue. But are you asking about refunding the gift card or the content bought with the gift card?

If a gift card is redeemed, it can't be refunded. It would be up to the retailer you purchase it from as to if it can be refunded otherwise.
