    Redeeming codes for old Gears games


    Just last night I received two messages from Xbox Live to my account with free codes to redeem for Gears of War 1, 2, 3 and Judgment. Have only been able to redeem the two for 2 and judgment, with the other two giving me an error message, something to do
    with language or region. How do I fix this so I can download Gears 1 and 3?

    Both of those games are region locked. In order to download them your account region has to match your physical location and you have to live in a region where the games are available.

    Those 2 games are region locked. So in order to download them your account region has to match your physical location and you have to live in a region where the games are available.

    All sorted, thanks for help. Account had for some reason decided it was in the US when I set it up!

    I'm still having this issue. I have looked at my region settings and its all set to UK (where i am & live) so I have no idea what to try next. Any advice?

    you can't choose the us if you don't actually live there etc

    You must use the region migration tool on the website under my account and change my region (not the locale of the website )

    Its also a 3month wait till your next move it's best to use your actual region

    If you don't live in an xbox live region no new code will work
