    So I bought an xbox live prepaid card for gold and I redeemed it online. I have gotten on my xbox 360 but I still dont have xbox live gold. When I redeemed it showed me some instructions but I skipped it because I thought I was going to get it instantly.

    Need help redeeming my xbox live code

    I tried redeeming the code in my browser on my computer using these instructions, big mistake. It said "thank you, you redeemed your code" and then exited me out. No gamertag registration whatsoever. I thought the whole point of redeeming my code was to create a gamer tag, but no just exits me out. I then tried redeeming my code on my xbox (so that I could create the gamer tag) and it said "sorry, code already redeemed."

    so what the... what do I do now?

    When you add gold via the website there can be a delay before the console will recognize it. Try testing your connection on the console. That should speed it up.

    If it still doesn't work, check
    http://commerce.microsoft.com     and make sure it shows the subscription on your account. If it doesn't, you'll need to try redeeming the code again. If it does you may have to try contacting support directly. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or

    Hey KMVY,

    Thank you for posting here on the xbox forums. Once the code has been redeemed, you cannot redeem it again. Which is why you would be getting that message the second time around. Did you redeem the code online or on your xbox? If it was online, you would
    have had to be logged into your gamertag before redeeming the code. Otherwise, you might redeem it on the wrong account.
