    Has anyone been having trouble playing Redbox movies off their Xbox one?

    The Blu-Ray app is only for playing Blu-Ray movies. Games should start automatically when you insert the disc. If not, navigate to my games and apps and start the game from there.

    Xbox One: Blu-ray and DVD movies

    I would check out the Xbox page for Blu-ray playback regarding regions. But yes, your Xbox One can certainly play DVD and Blu-ray movies.

    I have not. Could be a print out on the disc themselves the prevent them specifically from playing. I'm guessing standard DVD's or Blu'Rays play just fine?

    Apparently you don't get blu-ray movies from your local library or from services like Netflix or Redbox then... My family gets scratched discs at least once a month...

    you need the Blu-ray app for the Xbox to play DVD/Blu-ray movies, been this way since the beginning, once you have the app you don't need to be connected.
