    Red ring of death on xbox slim. Hard drive issues


    Hello my xbox360 external hard drive (250gb) is causing my xbox to have the red ring of death (the centre circle on the power button turns red after 5-8 seconds of turning it on) when I remove the hard drive my xbox works fine and I tested the hard drive
    on another console and the exact same thing happened. I have all my saves and crucial data on this drive. what are my options of fixing this or is there any way I can extract my saves and data so that I can keep my info. I have had the drive for about 2-3
    years roughly and none of my data is hacked or anything like that. please help

    How To Fix Your Red Ring Of Death (Easy)

    If your slim gets red ring of death, its a hard drive issue. Simply remove the hard drive and plug it back in.

    You don't need the hard drive but if you do, it needs to be completly in. There is a new xbox 360 slim that came out in 2011 with the kinect. With the new slim, the red ring of death is now gone. FINALLY!

    Not 100 % sure but i think the E model has no hard drive as standard,its only 4gb.

    The old red ring issue isn`t fully gone,its now a red dot of death on the slims,but much less likely to happen than on the old versions.

    my Xbox is now BROKEN due to XB Support offline update!!!!

    There is no official 120gb hard drive for the Slim 4g model Xbox. You have purchased an unauthorized piece of 3rd party hardware. So that could be part of your most recent problems. Also, the Slim Xbox does not get the Red Ring of Death but rather the
    Red Dot. If you are seeing something other than the red dot you may wish to check here

    One last thing, if you take the hard drive out will the red lights go away?

    20GB, 60GB and 120GB Hard Drives for Slim

    My friend told me that the 320gb hard drive carry's the red ring if death and the 250gb hard drive is sold out so the 120gb hard drive is the only option I got.
