Red Dead Redemption BC Not Working

I just recently bought an Xbox One and picked up a physical copy of RDR to play. However, when I inserted the disc, nothing happened. I tried for about an hour and still no success. I contacted the support via phone and live chat, and they sent me through
the steps of resetting my xbox (twice) and still no luck. We figured it must have been a problem with the disc, although it was brand new and worked on a friends console. So, I returned it and picked up another copy. The exact same thing is happening, nothing.
So, I figured I'd come to the forums for help this time around.

These are the Xbox 360 games I want to be BC.

Gotham City Imposters is what I'd love to see for BC. Also Red Dead Redemption.

Have you tried other disks in your Xbox One? There could be a problem with your disk drive for the Xbox.

 

Yes, I've tried 3 other discs, although they weren't Xbox 360 games.

Edit: The 360 games I've downloaded digitally do work though.

 

Okay, have you tried force updating the console? To do that go to My Games and Apps and in the app section there will be a settings app. From there scroll down to system and select Console info & updates. There may be an update that your system needs. If
not, then try another 360 disk, if you have one and see if that works.

 

Yes, I've tried doing that. This would be my 3rd attempt, but still nothing. I no longer own any other 360 disks except for the copy of Red Dead.

 

How long have you been trying? Also when talking to Microsoft Support, did you do a hard reset or full power cycle?

 

I got the first copy of the game about a week ago. Went through the process of both hard resetting and power cycling, to no avail. Now, I have a different copy of the game and still nothing works.

 

Have you gotten an update today at all? The November update released to the public today, and if for some reason your console doesn't see that update, you may have to wait until it notices it. Where you would go to update the console, it tells you the last
date it updated.

 

Yes, I downloaded that update earlier today.

 

What version of the game do you have? Is it a single disk or Game of the Year?

 

Single disk. The previous one was GoTY.

 

When you had the GOTY, did you try installing it with both disks? Also, is there any way you could get access to another backwards compatible 360 game on disk?

There is one other way you could get it to possibly work, but it may not be worth the effort. You could try factory resetting the console. All save data is saved on the cloud, so you won't lose progress, but you will have to reinstall all of the games you
have and will have to re-download all profile on the xbox.

 

Yes, I attempted to install both of them but neither was read. And no, unfortunately.

What are the chances of that working? I wouldn't mind too much, but redownloading and resorting all of my Skyrim mods would be a huge pain.
