    Recurring issue. Certain friends appear offline though their not. NAT open, privacy open....


    Ive gone through many threads here and its obvious thousands of other users are having the same problem.

    Family members, who are obviously also friends on xbox live, consistantly appear offline.

    Privacy setting all open. NAT open.

    We are even on the same network.

    Gone through all suggestions and done hard reboot, multiple times.

    Me and my wife and some of our kids always appear offline to each other, but not all our kids. We all have our accounts and privacy settings the same and we are all on the same network. This makes no sense.

    Another friend, in a different country always appears online, no issues there.

    This needs fixing !!

    Hey there Trausti!

    Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this inconvenience trying to have your friends online statuses coming up correctly.

    I see that you have already done a hard reboot, but have you tried a soft reset?
    It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

    Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
    will be removed    ) and have easy access to your internet network.

    Also make sure that you select the option denoted
    reset and keep my games
    &
    apps.

    Follow the steps here on How
    to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One    and let us know how that helps with the issue.

    I have that happen periodically, it seems like XBLive doesn't immediately update status' at times. I usually toggle my appear offline/online flag to push the change. seems to work. It doesn't happen often enough for a real test.

    It's possible the profile you are looking up is set to "appear offline". Press the xbox button and scroll all the way left and the setting should be at the bottom.
