Recovery emails/phone numbers

Alright so someone got into my account over the weekend. Changed password, added recovery email/phone before I could verify "it wasn't me".

I hot carded my card, still got one purchase before that and put PayPal on hold. Still got a handful of purchases- nothing huge. But with payment options gone,

amazingly kid isn't interested anymore- he has quit changing the password when I try to recover the account. So I was able to recover the account, change my password and can access my MS account again. But because he changed the recovery password and the email, plus added a security key and a sign in with GitHub - I can't change any of my security info for 30 days. I'm too anxious to wait that long. Trying to use the online help is an endless circle and I just want the kid's info off my account. Any ideas?

Thank you for your replies and assistance.

I tried. I don't have that option because I can't verify the account because that's the into that's been changed.

I get a pop-up asking me to verify my security prompts and since it's this other kids info... I'm still stuck waiting 30 days.

I just don't understand how MS doesn't have a work around this. I know I'm not the only one.

Any suggestions on what options to select for them not to make me continuously circle looking for ways to word my problem?

I'm just not sure how.

sndavis812, unfortunately, Microsoft does have those 30-days-wait policy to change every security info.

In that case, I suggest you try to contact Microsoft support directly so you can explain what happened and check what your options are at that point.
