Recovery email security code not working.

Based on the description, you have received notification of the changes of your security information which you did not initiated and securing your account was not successful due to some issues with the verification codes. It is possible that there was a system glitch or issue with the server that is causing the issue. To make sure that we can intervened any unauthorized changes with the information of your account, follow the steps below:

• Sign in to the Security page for your Microsoft account.

That's because you set an email as contact method for recovery process doesn't mean the account it's on a different email you just need to get the security code to log in in the account trough the contact email registered

you will need to contact support directly, you cannot use the online default recovery form as you have 2fa enabled, normally support cannot help either, but they may point you in the right direction, this is the problem with 2fa, if its enabled normal recovery tools don't work and support usually cannot help.

this is why you always have a recovery email attached and your recovery code saved somewhere secure.

I had the same problem when someone changed my password and email so that it ended in outlook.com and the security email was some random email ending in fbi.ac. I was quite distressed for a while but I applied for the account recovery and that seems to have worked (Im pretty sure you need good details to get a recovery code).

Thanks to this I have restored my Minecraft account with all the progress.
