    So I've got a screen capture as my home screen on my Xbox 1 that I was hoping to copy to an external drive, but the original image was automatically deleted from my screen captures. Is it still possible to recover the image somehow given it's still my
    home screen background and hence the file must exist somewhere?

    No it was just on the console, but it got automatically deleted, it is still my background but I can't access it the conventional way.

    1. In the "My color & background" settings page, select achievement art and/or screenshots

    2. Scroll through the list of games in your library that have achievements and/or screenshots flin

    3. Once you select a game, scroll through the game's achievements and/or screens hots and click on the achievement that features the artwork you want and then click "Set as background"
