Recover deleted game captures

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your game captures, especially those memories with your friend.

Microsoft implemented a policy starting September 27, 2023, where game captures stored on the Xbox network are deleted after 90 days. Unfortunately, once these captures are deleted from the Xbox network, they cannot be recovered.

Have you checked the local storage of your console ? If they were stored on your console, they might be still there. Locally stored clips are not affected by the 90-day deletion policy.

I'm sorry for the problem you're having, unfortunately it's not possible to recover deleted clips. Following the new policy that began in 2024 and was announced in September 2023, clips stored on the Xbox network will be deleted after 90 days.

The entire xbox captures function is total dog ****, everything about it. It refuses to trim certain clips, randomly deletes others, and is overall confusing as hell. They seriously need to overhaul the entire thing. Why is there no "recover deleted" option
so you can get back your clips that you accidentally deleted - there's literally a sea of trash captures in the file that you have to navigate through while trying to find your actual desired clip, needle in a haystack, and the chances of you deleting the
wrong files while trying to clean up this **** is extremely high. Seriously grab a brain Microsh*t.

I have same problem. When I am in my games and apps I can see the 3 games that I have successfully loaded but not sunset overdrive which has failed to download. Scrolling to the right only highlights the box "find more in the Xbox store" no 'ready to install'
tab appears. I gave restarted the Xbox using the advised method. Still the same. Have you any action advice?

Can you go to My Games & Apps and under Games scroll all the way to the right. Leave it there for a minute and there should be a tab that appears entitled "Ready to Install" with the AC game there.

Click A then confirm to download.

If not, try power cycling first and the try again.
