Thinking about buying this. But does it support my ultra wide resolution 3440x1440?

Also can I use my xbox controller who is connected? Not the Xbox one but the normal one? Works fine for steam games.

Also one more thing. If I buy it through the windows store does it have some sort of streaming functionality? Like on steam I can stream the game from my gaming rig upstairs (R9 290 graphics card running windows 10) to my htpc (i5-6500 graphics running windows
    10) who is connected to my 4k (3840x2160) tv in the living room? So that It can use my gpu upstairs and play it downstairs?

    Thanks in advance

    :)

Xbox One Controller - connect to 2 machines

Hi All...new to the Xbox family. Quick question around the Xbox one controller being multipoint or not. Main reason of asking this is I play some simple games on my windows 10 laptop via Xbox live streaming. The main Xbox is downstairs and the bedroom upstairs.
While streaming works effortlessly on the laptop and Xbox are in the same room (controller synced to Xbox), the controller does not control the game when I am upstairs.

So can the same controller be used across the Xbox and Pc seamlessly or do I need to invest in 2 separate controllers.

    Thanks for the help.

Don't support well, i have a ultra-wide monitor (2560x1080) and selecting the right resolution it center the image in 1920x1080, i put in 192x1080 and it stretch lowering the image quality (pixels get bigger and fuzzy).

As for controller, if it works the same as the Xbox it should be fine.

As for the way you mean the stream i am not sure if it is possible, i know you can stream from the xbox to pc.

  5. Steam have an in home streaming functionality. All the games you buy through steam can use this.
    store.steampowered.com/streaming

If you have a gaming computer you can stream to your laptop or another pc using the power of you gaming rig.

I was wondering if the windows store has a similar functionality. I have no xbox, but several computers.

I think it doesn't have, maybe a 3rd party software can do that, but i can't say for sure.

Can't test either for you since i just did a refund for it.

    Xbox One X - 5120x1440

    Hi Stjarnan TRTR,

I am aware of the monitor you are talking about and it I believe fits into the super ultrawide monitor category.

So the Xbox can output in 1080, 1440, and 4k on a 16:9 ratio. So that means for 1440 you would be looking at 2560x1440 for a ‘normal’ picture as supported by the system.

It should work on your monitor but there is a HUGE caveat in that you will be outputting to 2560x1440. Your monitor will have two very big black bars to the left and the right of the screen and maybe the top and bottom too (not 100% sure about top/bottom
bars). Any stretching done by the monitor will make the output look odd and in a normal ultrawide (3440x1440) it is less noticeable but in your monitor I think it will not look very good as everything will be stretched.

If you cant find videos of your monitor paired with an Xbox, look for videos where a 3440x1440 monitor is used instead. The results are similar and it gives you an idea of what to expect.

I have been asking for 21:9 / 3440x1440 support for a while (via twitter, reddit, etc) and hope we get some support for it. I am a huge fan of ultrawide monitors and I am in the opposite camp where I want an ultrawide for a raspberry pi/ future PC but The
Xbox don’t support it so it seams wasted at this stage in my life. Your monitor is the next level up from the resolution I want but aspect ratio is the same :) I can imagine your monitor is a beast in FPS and racing games. I bet it is really immersive :)

Hope this helps any questions will do my best to answer them :)

165 hz monitor not detect 4k 120 hz

This display isn't a fake 165Hz as per this review from Tom's hardware

It's still totally the wrong type of display for an Xbox console though. The reason being is because it's a WQHD Ultrawide. That's a PC centric resolution of 3440x1440 which has a 21:9 aspect ratio.

What does this mean? Well, the Xbox does not support Ultrawide resolutions. This means you've going to have to choose either 1080P or 1440P (1440P is 2560x1440), this will stretch the image to fill the screen, but as it's not the native screen resolution it will look blurred (and there is no way to correct this).
