Recording whole screen

The Windows Game Bar recording function isn't a screen recorder, it's limited to recording one game or application at a time. To record the whole screen you'll need a third party application.

On your controller hit the home button hit right twice to go to your uploads and there's a whole menu . Start recording , record what just happened as well as record up to the last 5 minutes . Many many options

I think my xbox one don't have start recording. Do I need to download a screen record app from microsoft store?

Game Bar names recordings after the app it was recording, so in this case it was recording the Control Panel.

Game Bar can only record one app window, it will record the app which was focused when you started the recording. It cannot switch to recording another app after you begin recording.

I'm afraid it won't be possible to fix this recording. Game Bar only recorded that specific window; you can't go back and change that as any other data was not captured during the recording.

If you wish to record your whole screen, I recommend using a different recording app such as OBS. Game Bar is designed for recording games, hence why it can only capture one window at a time.

Thank you for your response, unfortunately, the issue relies in games I know can run Game DVR just fine, and like I stated it works 50/50, let say example, Rainbow Six Siege, I record only for it to record a black screen with nothing and just audio, or
it works and records the whole prior minute and works just fine, is in not guaranteed to record? Or is it just a chance it may or may not? To this, I'm not sure, but thanks for your consideration either way, still open to responses
