recording gameclips on xbox one

Hey guys, I am having trouble with a problem and I wanted to know if anyone here knows the fix. How do i record for more than 2 minutes on my xbox one S. I used to be able to record for 10 minutes but now it only records for 2. Is it something to do with
storage? Because I have a 5tb storage expander which is nowhere close to full. What's the fix?

Xbox One S by default captures 1080p with a max of 2 minutes.

Go to preferences > Broadcast & Capture

Under capture select Game clip resolution and choose 720p SDR. This will allow you to record 5 minutes. Be warned, the quality of video recordings will drop.

You need a hard drive which not formatted for games.

Is there anyways to get the time higher and keep the quality at 1080p? also i used to be able to record at 1080p for 10 minutes. Is there a way i can do that again?

Hey there!

Let's see if we can figure this out for you. First, double check that your captures are actually uploading to Xbox Live (you can do this in the Upload Studios app) and not simply saving to your local storage. If that is happening, next thing to check is
going to be your privacy settings. Open up Settings, and go to Privacy and Online Safety. Under "Game Content" see what is selected for "Others can see your game clips and screenshots" as well as "You can share game clips and screenshots." Make sure both of
those are set to "Allow" and at least friends then try again.
