    Recording at 1080p problems


    I am trying to record footage at 1080p to an external drive, however it is recording at 720p not 1080p. I have set the capture location to my external storage and have also set recording resolution to 1080p, even with the 1080p option enabled my xbox is
    still only recording at 720p. I have reset all options and set them back multiple times and it still doesn’t work, i have removed the drive and inserted it back multiple times and it still doesn’t work. I have tried 2 different external storage devices that
    have been formatted and are capable of recording at 1080p on the xbox and still it does not work. Could anyone help me with this? Much appreciated.

    Xbox one x 4K recording problem after last system update

    Is no clips, I was recording videos in 4K - 10min+ for storage I use my USB flesh drive

    everything worked well until today after system update.

    Recording in 1080p is still working but 4K recording is in problem..

    On my Xbox Series S i've noticed that setting the output to 1080p and also recording in 1080p seems to solve the issue... but this also means I cannot output HDR. It might be a conversion issue. Just got my Series X (that I ordered in March), but have not had time to see if there are any issues yet. I will definitely not run it at 1080p SDR just to get clips. Will try recording both in 4K HDR and 1080p SDR to see if there's any problem.

    Yeah recording at 720p works just fine but I’m trying to save clips at 1080p for videos but before I was able too record at 1080p normally.

    Samething happens to me, I always use an external hdd formatted for media with plenty of space to record my 4k videos but now it just stops randomly, it records 1080p without problems.

    fjng and all i have been facing the same problem, i have a 3.0 usb pendrive(whatever) and i wanted to start recording on my xbox. It stops recording for no reason without even telling.

    I am however on an xbox one s recording at 1080p SDR

    Should i have the problem?
