Recently got a replacement Series 2 Elite controller and is faulty

I Recently got a replacement Series 2 Elite controller and is faulty, about 2 months ago and using it for the first time wired it doesnt work, the usb cable its powering the controller.Although this is a new replacement sent out by Microsoft, What annoys me more is the fact it is now out of warranty what do i do?

You can send the controller back to Microsoft for replacement but as it is out of warranty you will need to pay. This link has information about this and instructions on how to send the controller in for repair.

I just think the fact i have to pay to fix a controller they sent to me whilst under warranty is stupid
