    Receiving error "0x80072F8F" when attempting to install Xbox App


    I am receiving an error when attempting to install the Xbox App on my Windows instance.

    Previously I have had issues with the application. The last time it was used, within weeks it corrupted my OS installation. This resulted in almost all default Windows Apps (Including Windows Explorer) failing to run on most boots. An in-place upgrade was performed to remedy the situation.

    Post upgrade everything is fixed, with one exception - The Windows Store returns error 0x80072F8F when attempting to install applications.

    I have attempted to:

    Reset and reinstall Windows Store
    In-place upgrade of Windows
    Perform sfc/scannow commands and used DISM

    I will not be reinstalling Windows from scratch, and if that is the only solution I will merely cancel my Gamepass subscription instead.

    And did you already tried changing temporarily your PC region to United States and set time and date automatically?
    If not, try it and also use temporarily a VPN service to see how it goes

    Unfortunately neither switching off IPv6 nor uninstalling the driver of my network adapter, and then switching entirely to a different network adapter managed to resolve the issue.

    It worked earlier, and it would certainly work if I reinstalled Windows fresh, so I don't believe it's a hardware issue.

    So the solution is that there is no solution? Just reinstall every month when it inevitably happens and that is it?

    I do wonder why a program this unstable is as deeply rooted in the system as it is.
