Received Xbox Series S back from service, no sound no 4k

Hi,

I just received my Xbox Series S back from service after sending it off because I couldn’t play newer xbox games and a handful of older games (Order 1543543530). I just hooked up unit and already noticed I wasn’t getting any sound. I am using cables that came with unit. Tried cables from PS5 and still no sound. Decide to go through setup process and also noticed that setting the display to 4k wasn’t working. Only 1080p and 720p would actually display anything. What do I need to do to resolve this issue. The paper work that came with the unit says it was fully tested before leaving the service center.

I understand that but UI and apps that display 4k content is the reason for the option on Xbox series S. I am not talking about 4k gameplay but UI. The option doesn’t work whereas the defective unit I had prior did 4k in UI and video. The sound is also another issue. I just contact support again and they are going to do an expedited service on the unit but kinda sucks as I was one of the people burnt with launch Xbox 360 units and now I am having so many issues with this Xbox series S. Hopefully everything goes will with this service because I like this little unit.

Yes on another tv and gaming monitor. Still not working.

I tried everything mentioned but to no avail. I am having to ship the unit back to the service center.

Select System > Settings > General > TV & Video Options.

Select Video Fidelity and Overscan.

Under Display, select HDMI.

Then go to the resolution and see if the error persists.

If it continues, put it on automatic identification and see if that helps.

If it doesn't work, reset it again and set it to factory reset.
