Received a Elite 2 controller for Father’s Day. The A and B button are sometimes unresponsive.

Hi. I recently received an Elite 2 controller. Immediately I noticed an issue when jumping in game. Sometimes my button press won’t register. I went to the menu and tried pressing the a button and 1 out of there 10 presses the bottom won’t register. This is a brand new controller. I found a support question from 25/09/2019 with exactly the same issue. How can this controller still have this issue nearly 2 years later. Someone mentioned in the old thread that pressing on the side of the button exacerbated the issue. This seems to be correct as when I change my finger position on the button I can make it not trigger at all.

Is this just an issue will ALL the controllers and do I need to just live with it?

Hi. Thanks for your input. I’ve checked out the page but unfortunately none of the issues on the page relate to mine or provide a solution.

The controller already updated itself , and I’m thinking it more of a physical issue with the buttons as there are support questions from 2019 with exactly the same issue as me.

With controller issues like these, we recommend checking Troubleshoot your Xbox Wireless Controller | Xbox Support article as it contains some solutions to the issue. However, if the issue persists, we'd recommend preforming an Update your Xbox Wireless Controller | Xbox Support as it might fix the issue.

I'm nit sure though my elite series 2 had some issues, I had unresponsive buttons and stick drift, I took mine back to the store, but they had not elite controllers in stock I got the Razer ultimate edition instead and I'm loving it at the moment

Since we have two controllers, we’ve returned 6 controllers now and they all have the same issue. Not sure what to do as exchanging one just get you the same problem. It’s all over the review boards at Amazon and others. This is not a minor issue as Microsoft
has expressed and they’ve offered no answer.
