    Realm Privacy settings error, cannot find setting needed?


    So I recently bought Minecraft Windows 10 Edition to play with some online friends.

    When I went to accept a realm invite, it stated that I did not have the proper privacy settings enabled.

    I do not own an Xbox but use the overlay and account to access certain games connected to my Microsoft account.

    The XBOX app on my phone as well as the Xbox app for my pc does not have a setting that mentions privacy.

    the only help I have found online takes me through an endless loop of Xbox support screens.

    Hello I am experiencing this problem with Minecraft im trying to join my friends realms but it said you cannot play minecraft realms because of how your account is set up. You can change your privacy and online settings in aka.ms/account settings
    but it never works i cant find privacy settings anywhere it sends me to xbox support everytime. Please help
    i cant join my friends and i cant go online:(

    Thank you for your reply. All privacy settings have been verified and are set to “Active” or “Everyone” so there should be no barrier to multi-player games and join groups.

    The problem is not that I can’t join a specific Realm. It’s a general problem. Under Play, Minecraft says says “You need permission. You cannot play on Realms because of how your Xbox Live account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online safety
    settings on Xbox Live."

    Hello Chris,

    You will need to go onto your Xbox Microsoft account and access the privacy settings via a desktop in order to change your settings.

    Please note that if you are trying to play with anyone on different platforms the following must be on allow.

    You can play with players outside of Xbox Live
    Decide to allow or block multiplayer gaming with players on other gaming services outside of Xbox Live.

    Allow

    Block

    "You need permission" Minecraft realms

    This is really not very helpful. What settings need to be "amended"? All of my son's settings are set to "Allow" and he still cannot access Realms due to the permissions error on his Pocket Edition (iPad).
