Really odd issues with my Xbox One S

I have the launch 2 TB Xbox One S, and everything has been fine until today. Whenever I boot the console, either one of two things happen, the Xbox logo stays up for way too long, then the screen goes black with limited funcionality, able to hold the Xbox
button on the controller and get that menu for shut off etc. The other thing that can happen is a good boot, solid times and everything, but no controller functionality, can't even get the sync mode to work on the console, although I'm able to use the Xbox
smartglass to navigate, can anyone help with this? Or is this just a problem I alone am having?

Elite Controller is the best addition to this gen

I had issues with 2 of my S controllers. The one that came with my xbox one S the right bumper was odd after a while. Like a sticking click. I bought a brand new one and it had the exact same issue out of the box. Yet my Day One Controller with my original xbox one is still fine to this day.

But my Elite is just fantastic

XB1 UI

I really like Windows Phone 8, Xbox One UI, and I really like both Windows 8 and 8.1. I guess I'm one of the "odd ducks" considering there's so much hate revolving around Win 8's UI.

The drive is not detected on my daughter's new Xbox One, either, so it isn't s system-specific issue.

That's interesting, I too had to download that Rise of the Tomb Raider update the other day, which I thought odd because I had been playing through the DLC and wondered why there was such a big update at this time (since the game and DLC has been out for
a while). Maybe it's actually a new update, I don't know how to tell?

I don't think it's a huge issue, just maybe a system glitch that required a cache clear. So clearing the cache solved the issue you were having? Have the updates popped up on anything since then?
