    Really confused about how all this is supposed to work(Disc to Digital)


    I joined omega ring a little over a week ago and have been doing all my activities/surveys and I still don’t have access to the update yet. I would’ve joined insiders sooner but I didn’t even know this was a thing until this update was announced and I’ve been an Xbox user for over a decade. The announcements I read made it seem like all Omega Ring users were supposed to have it by 9/2 at 3 pm but I’ve heard conflicting things now and here I am with nothing still 4 days later. I’m pretty desperate to use this update and log as many of my massive collection of physical games as I can but I’m not enjoying how many hoops I’m having to jump through to try it especially since there’s not even a release date yet for non insiders. Am I doing something wrong, like am I not the right type of omega ring user or do I need to sign up for something else I just don’t get it.

    Hello,

    Yes, my XBOX ONE-S version is however a digital version (I normally download games from the store with reedimable codes), but I read about an "all digital version" without internal hard-disk and here I'm supposing (or hoping) in different rules for external USB the data storage support/compatibility.

    Anyway, your answer confirm me that I can't, but I continue to be confused about the thirdy party vendors that sells disc games claiming for XBOX ONE-S compatibility.... It is impossible to play without a digital code!

    All discs work properly on my Xbox One (fat lady)... what really confuses me is, that SOME discs work and only a few don‘t. I guess if the drive were bad, ALL discs could not be read on Xbox X... it‘s not logical in my mind

    If you sign into the same account, all of your games you own digitally will be available to you

    If you’re talking about disc based games, they won’t work without a disc drive to validate them

    Should not have to uninstall. It's been stated by MS that discs can be used to install games that are bought digitally. I would just return the discs, then buy the games digitally. If it works the way it is supposed to, you shouldn't have to download anything.
